Cranston High School East: A Century of Excellence and Tradition
Celebrating 100 years of educational excellence, Cranston High School East stands as a cornerstone of the Cranston community. With a dedicated faculty and staff of approximately 180 professionals, the school serves a vibrant and diverse student body of nearly 1,600 students in grades nine through twelve. East's “college-like” campus is home to ten Career and Technical programs, as well as a wide range of academic, extracurricular, and athletic opportunities designed to meet the varied needs and interests of its students. As a proud model high school for the State of Rhode Island, Cranston East continues to strive for excellence in all areas.
East is more than a school; it is a unique and cherished community where tradition and diversity are celebrated. Generations of families have walked its halls, with many alumni choosing to return as faculty or staff to give back to the community that shaped them. This deep-rooted connection is nurtured through an active School Leadership Council—comprised of students, parents, and teachers—that plays a vital role in organizing meaningful school events. The enduring pride and loyalty of the school community are further captured by a thriving Alumni Association, which continues to foster East Pride and Respect among graduates who live and work in Cranston and beyond.
As East embarks on its second century, the commitment to continuous improvement remains steadfast. Guided by proven reform strategies, Cranston High School East embraces innovation while staying true to its storied legacy. We are EAST.
