Cranston High School East – Annual Report Highlight
2025–2026 School Year
As Cranston High School East proudly celebrates 100 years of educational excellence, the 2025–2026 school year has been defined by growth, innovation, and school pride. It is truly a great time to be a BOLT.
This year, CHSE continued its commitment to fostering a supportive and thriving learning environment through a series of impactful initiatives. The school successfully established an Attendance Team to address attendance challenges, reinvigorated the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), and introduced a Student Support Center (SSC) to enhance targeted interventions. Additional supports included the implementation of QR codes for social-emotional assistance, expansion of the PBIS Rewards Program, and the creation of a school store where students can purchase items through earned positive rewards. Student Leadership Advisory and Peer Mentors further strengthened school culture by serving as ambassadors for the CHSE community.
Academic and career pathways expanded significantly with the addition of six new Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, bringing the total to ten programs across disciplines including Nursing, Plumbing & Pipefitting, JROTC, Criminal Justice, Auto, Business, Music Engineering, IT, Computer Science, and Educational Pathways. CHSE also hosted a “Be a BOLT” Open House, Parent Information Nights, and a community-wide Bolt Bazaar event.
The arts remain vibrant at CHSE, with theater, music, and visual art programs showcasing the talents of students through performances and exhibitions. The school also hosted major events such as a National White House Cybersecurity Conference and the Statewide Electric Boat Graduation Ceremony, reinforcing its role as a hub for educational and community engagement.
Preparation is underway for the Centennial Graduation Class of June 2027, in collaboration with the Alumni Association, students, and faculty—a milestone that continues to energize the school community.
Athletics and extracurricular activities have flourished, with student-athletes achieving success on and off the field, including a recent state volleyball and softball championships. Clubs and activities have expanded, offering diverse opportunities for student involvement, leadership, and personal growth.
Community engagement remains a cornerstone of CHSE, with student participation in events such as the Veterans Day Parade, City Hall Holiday Opening, and Hasbro Children’s Hospital Good Night Lights. School culture has been enriched through events including homecoming, prom, and spring celebrations. Communication continues to be a priority, supported through weekly updates, school media, and active social media platforms.
Facility improvements have enhanced both function and school pride, including upgraded cafeteria and library furniture, a renovated teacher’s room, a senior café space with alfresco dining, improved athletic complex branding, and a modernized front foyer. Ongoing security enhancements and updated water fountains have also contributed to a safer, more welcoming environment. Recognition programs such as quarterly Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance celebrations, along with Advisory and SEL programming, continue to strengthen a positive school climate.
