Mr. Gregory Arsenault is in his eighth year as Co-Director of Instrumental Music at Cranston High School East, having previously served for nine years as a staff member of the Thunderbolt Marching Band. At East his duties include Co-Director/Percussion Caption Head for the Thunderbolt Marching Band, Co-Director of the Concert Band and Director of the Winter Percussion Ensemble. In addition, Mr. Arsenault teaches Percussion Class, Music Theory, and Music Technology.
A 1996 graduate of Rhode Island College, Mr. Arsenault received his Bachelor of Science in Music Education, with a concentration in percussion. He was the recipient of the Rhode Island College Music Department Distinguished Service Award. "Mr. A" graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2002 with a Master of Music in Music Education and studio composition concentration. He is currently pursuing a Master's Certificate in Music Production and Technology from Berklee Online School of Music.
Mr. Arsenault was a marching member of the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps from 1992-1993 and a percussion staff member from 1996-1998. He also served as Tour Director for the Crusaders in 1999.
Mr. A is excited about the future of working with the Thunderbolt Band and students at CHSE. He currently lives in Warwick with his wife, Rebecca, and their two sons Lucas and Nathan.
Mr. Mark Colozzi is Co-Director of Instrumental and Choral Music at Cranston High School East where he conducts the choirs, wind ensemble, marching band and jazz ensemble. Mr. Colozzi is current President of the Rhode Island Music Educators Association and holds the position of Music Director of the Life Teen Ministry at Holy Apostles Church in Cranston.
Mr. Colozzi earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Rhode Island and a Master of Fine Arts from Rhode Island College. He is the recipient of the Theodore Presser Foundation Scholarship and the URI Music Department Service Award.
As a performer, he has appeared extensively as a tenor soloist throughout the Diocese of Providence including the past 20 years with the Gregorian Concert Choir in residence at the Cathedral of SS Peter and Paul in Providence under the direction of Rev. Anthony Mancini. Singing with this ensemble has brought many wonderful experiences including meeting and singing for Pope John Paul II in Rome in 1998. Mr. Colozzi held the position of Music Director for the Salve Regina University Theatre Department for ten years and has performed with Rhode Island's most notable musical comedy troupes including the Ocean State Follies and Mixed Nuts.
Mr. Colozzi resides in Cranston with his lovely wife, Joanne and his two wonderful daughters, Alicia and Jenna. "Mr C" has been blessed for over 20 years with his association with so many terrific people in the Thunderbolt Band organization and is looking forward to the next 20 years!
