It's that time of the year, short story writers!  The annual Reflections Literary Magazine Short Story Contest is now taking

place.  We are looking for the best short story writers in the school.  Please submit your short story to Mrs. Wahlberg in Room 317, or to Mrs. Blais in the library.  Make sure your name and your homeroom are clearly written on your typed submission.  Deadline for the contest is April 7th.

 

Students would you like to earn four hours of community service? Then join us at The Tomorrow Fund walk on April 2nd in Garden City Shopping Center. Check in will be at 8:45am and the walk will begin at 10am and end at noon. Each student must raise a minimum of twenty dollars and if you register before March 24th, you will receive a Tomorrow Fund T-Shirt. To sign up see Ms Conte in room 442 or see Klara Kosto.

 

The Class of 2019 is hosting a calendar raffle for the month of April. You have until the last day of March to purchase a calendar. The cost is $10 a calendar, but there are 25 chances to win a prize of at least a $20 value, and up to a $150 value. Please see a Class of 2019 council member or Mr. Maynard in room 403 to purchase your calendar.

 

The Spring Fling is Friday, March 24th, from 7-10pm.  This will be a semi-formal event. Tickets are sold in the school store each day during lunches until next Thursday, March 23rd. Proceeds from the dance will help benefit the Leukemia Foundation. The cost of the dance is $7

 

ARTS INC will be adding an extra session starting on today. We will be running our sessions every Tuesday and Thursday after school in room 223. New members and drop-ins are always welcome.

 

Attention juniors who are applying to the College Visions…completed applications can be returned to Mrs. Conley in the Guidance Office.

 

Attention Students: Do you owe library fines?  From now until March 31, you can get a break on your fines while also helping out the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  Come to the library and make a $1.00 or more donations and your entire overdue fine will be erased.  Don't delay - this will only be happening for the next two weeks!

 

Attention all NAHS members, we will be having our monthly membership meeting this Tuesday after school. 

 

The Chess Club will meet today at 2:10pm in the room 256. All are welcome to attend and play!

 

Please note that there will be a District Wide Book Drive to collect used books that are appropriate for grades K-5, along with cash donations. The goal of this book drive is to provide reading materials to elementary school students. A collection bin and envelopes will be located in the main office. 

 

Spring Tennis practice begins after school at 3 o’clock today at the Park View Tennis Courts.

 

Attention: All girls trying out for softball. Tryouts will be held at the CLCF building on Pontiac Avenue. Tryouts will start at 2:30 – be sure to bring all equipment, running shoes not cleats.

 

Please note that there are only 20 yearbooks left for purchase…. Don’t miss out on this opportunity.
